BEYOND THE STREETS ON PAPER PREMIERES
BEYOND THE STREETS on PAPER was both a historical homage to the earliest mark makers and rule breakers and a celebration of an essential practice seen throughout contemporary art. The show explored experimental processes to imaginative works seen on paper from artists who trained in, and were inspired by graffiti, street art, hip-hop, punk rock, zines and underground art. It explored, with the democratization of materials and surface, the intricateness of an ever-growing movement that is both unique and revolutionary. BEYOND THE STREETS on PAPER took place at Southampton Arts Center from July to August 2021 and featured over 500 works on paper.
